Subscriptions & refunds
Last updated: April 2, 2026
This page describes how paid plans for PulseBooks work at a high level. The exact terms shown at checkout (including price, billing cycle, and tax) form part of your agreement with us together with our Terms of Service.
1. Plans and pricing
We offer multiple subscription tiers as described on our Pricing page. Features and usage limits may differ by plan. We may change plans or prices with reasonable notice; changes typically apply at the next renewal unless otherwise stated.
2. Payment processing
Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider (for example Polar). When you subscribe, you authorise the provider to charge your payment method for the applicable fees, taxes, and recurring renewals until you cancel. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.
3. Billing cycle and renewals
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
- Fees are charged in advance for the upcoming period unless your plan states otherwise.
- Taxes may be added based on your billing address and applicable law.
4. Trials
If we offer a free trial, we will state its duration and what happens when it ends. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, you may be charged for the selected plan when the trial converts to a paid subscription.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription through the billing or account settings in the product, or by following instructions from our payment provider's customer portal where available. Cancellation stops future renewals; you typically retain access until the end of the current paid period.
6. Refunds
Unless otherwise required by law or explicitly stated at checkout, fees are generally non-refundable once the billing period has started. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support promptly with details; we or our payment provider will review good-faith billing disputes.
7. Downgrades and upgrades
When you change plans, proration, effective dates, and any credits are handled according to the rules shown in-product or by the payment provider at the time of the change.
8. Failed payments
If a payment fails, we may retry charges, suspend access to paid features after notice, or cancel the subscription in line with our payment provider's policies.
9. Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback, we may suspend or close your account and dispute the claim with our records of your subscription and use of the Service.
10. Contact
For billing questions, use the support options in the application or on our website. Include your account email and any invoice or transaction identifiers you have.
Match this page to your actual checkout copy, refund rules, and the policies of your payment processor and jurisdiction (including consumer protection laws).
